Frequently Asked Questions
Are braces permanent?
No braces are not permanent, fixed braces are designed to be fixed to your teeth during treatment and then removed once the treatment has been completed.
After treatment you will be given retainers to wear at night, this is to be worn for the rest of your life at night only to ensure your teeth stay in the correct position.
Can you get braces with unerupted or erupting teeth?
It is easier to start your braces once you have all your adult teeth through.
The best option for you if you are unsure about your child or yourself having fixed braces is to speak to our Dentists who can assist you with the best suitable options.
Can you get pain with braces?
You can get a slight ache in the first couple of days when having your braces fitted or adjusted, whether that’s with our metal or clear braces in Wolverhampton.
Do braces hurt to be removed?
The feeling is very similar to having the put on, we may have to apply minor force to remove the brackets and the adhesive, but it is nothing to worry about.
What foods can you not eat with brace?
It’s best to avoid any foods that may be sticky, hard or chewy. This is because they will get stuck onto the brackets or potentially you can pull part of the brace off which slows down your teeth straightening journey.
Do you have a waiting list for braces?
Unlike the NHS, private practices like us we do not have a waiting list to start treatment.
Once you have had your initial free consultation, we would then book you in to have your assessment. From that appointment, we can get you started on your journey as soon as you would like.
How many visits would I need with braces?
We would book your appointments every 6-10 weeks to see your treating dentist for any adjustments needed to your brace.
